2013 Conference Announcement. Update: SUSPENDED
----------------------------------------
Novermber 27, 2012
Dear Colleagues,
I regret to inform you that due to security concerns resulting from current events in Egypt and the region in general, our colleagues in Egypt have advised us to suspend plans for the conference in February until further notice. We are very saddened and disappointed by this turn of events, but the security of all conference attendees is of utmost importance to ASTS and our Egyptian counterparts, hence we have decided to heed the advise to cancel the conference until such a time as events on the ground are stable enough for us to resume planning.
In the meantime, we will be working with our sponsors and collaborators, to assess the feasibility of having a satellite symposium in tandem with the SOT meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in March 2013. Thank you for your support during these two years of preparation and we look forward to your continued support to ASTS.
Sincerely,
Lilian Yengi, Ph.D.
President

Message from the President
October 21, 2012
Dear Colleagues
It is a singular pleasure for me to cordially invite you to attend the 2013 ASTS Conference and Training Workshop from February 10-15, 2013, in Ismailia, Egypt. As those of you who have been on this journey with us since 2010,when we first announced with pride that ASTS will make its first foray out of sub-SaharaAfrica, it has been a journey of discovery, excitement, yet fraught with many challenges that sometimes find usat the mercy of events outside our control. Nevertheless, the one thing that remained was the dedication and determination of the ASTS Leadership team and our esteemed partners and colleagues in Egypt who worked tirelessly against all odds, to ensure that this conference takes place. A culmination of this exemplary collaboration and teamwork is that ASTS is finally realizing the dream borne at the ASTS meeting, at Society of Toxicology (SOT) in Washington DC in 2010.
